FITTING ROOM NUMBERS
Steps New York
Steps New York needed a numbers system to use in their fitting rooms in order to reduce shrinkage. Rather than use pre-made generic numbers or custom-order from an outside manufacturer, I came up with an economical solution using laminated cardstock. I created color-coded number artwork using a similar border as the rest of their in-store signage.
The numbers were printed, laminated, then hole-punched so they could be hung on hooks that were attached to each fitting room. The numbers were inexpensive to produce and could be reproduced easily in-house if a new store was opened or old numbers needed to be replaced, rather than having to order from an outside supplier. Although they would have a shorter life span than conventional plastic numbers, feedback from the stores was that they were holding up well to everyday use.
